One Voice

At CapNet, we feel it is our responsibility to live up to the values we were founded on by giving back to our community. When deciding to seek out a non-profit to align ourselves with, we wanted to find an organization that would be powerfully impacted by our efforts. We discovered One Voice, a non-profit organization helping local families and children living at poverty level, and we knew we'd found just the one we were looking for.

"We seek out private and public colleges and universities that have the financial capacity to support our scholars, with a 95% rate of them remaining in school and graduating!" says Sharmon Goodman, Scholars Program Director.

One Voice's programs are designed to directly impact the lives they touch. Their College Scholars Program prepares and places low-income, inner-city high school students in colleges throughout the United States. The Packin' Bags program, which One Voice created to ensure that these special students have the necessary items to unpack like everyone else, finds local sponsors to take them shopping for the blankets, school supplies and other necessities they need for dorm life. This year, CapNet sponsored 5 Packin' Bags students, taking them to lunch and shopping for the items on their lists (pictured). It was a day we won't soon forget.

CapNet is dedicated to participating in this and many other One Voice programs. We feel honored to be a part of this special organization that so powerfully affects the lives of the young adults we know will make up tomorrow's executives.
